A downloadable roleplaying game
Cornwall. Rugged coastlines of high cliffs and sheltered bays, flowers growing bright and wild on the headlands, small villages tucked in sheltered corners out of the wind and rain.
People here are poor, scraping out a meagre living as farmers, fishers, or miners. Hard labour and long hours for uncertain profit, and there are mouths at home to feed.
Small wonder, then, that they say that everyone in Cornwall from the oldest grandmother to the youngest child is part of the wrecking trade...
Wrecker (noun): a person employed in recovering salvage from wrecked or disabled vessels; a person who plunders wrecks, especially after exhibiting false signals in order to cause shipwrecks.
This is a one-session 1-page roleplaying game about one night and one wreck in the lives of a crew of shipwreckers, working the Cornish coast in the late 1700s.
It is a game for 3-6 players, 1 MC (Master of Ceremonies) and between 2 to 5 wreckers, and should take between 2 and 3 hours. To play, you need a copy of the game (printed at A4 or A3 size) and around 6 six-sided dice.
You can watch Shipwreckers being played online here on Once Upon a Game, a variety show for storygames and IndieRPGs.
The game contains:
- Worldbuilding questions, character creation, resolution mechanics, and the setting/plot for a one-session adventure set on the Cornish coast
- Most of the tools needed to expand into a longer campaign, should you like
In order to download this roleplaying game you must purchase it at or above the minimum price of $5 USD. You will get access to the following files:
